Aller Tryk Opts for a Supra in Copenhagen Too
An open house event at Aller Tryk’s plant in the Danish capital Copenhagen, attended by a host of customers and other invited guests, marked the company’s inauguration of its new printing press, a new Supra high-performance saddle stitcher from Muller Martini and a new PrintRoll system with 400 roller frames.

The new Supra installed at Aller Tryk, which features eight feeders, two merchandise tippers, a Robusto stacker with strapping and an automatic palletizer, is replacing a twelve-year-old system supplied by an alternative manufacturer. The high-performance saddle stitcher from Muller Martini, which generates an output of up to 30,000 cycles per hour, plays a key role in securing the quick and reliable stitching of signatures printed using the new 48-page Lithoman and rolled up using PrintRoll. Aller Tryk also invested in 400 PrintRoll frames in a bid to guarantee these high production speeds on an ongoing basis.

Jesper Jungersen (Managing Director of Aller Tryk) and Felix Stirnimann (Marketing Manager of Muller Martini Saddle Stitching Systems) in front of the new high-performance Supra saddle stitcher at the Aller Tryk premises in Copenhagen.

According to Managing Director Jesper Jungersen, one of the things that made the Supra an interesting prospect was the fact that it is able to stitch magazines up to 13 mm thick problem-free. This quality is particularly important for Aller Tryk, as the company has this summer secured a major contract to print a weighty wedding magazine.

“The new Supra makes us more competitive,” says Jesper Jungersen, who also reveals that: “Using this system, we have boosted our saddle stitching production capacity by 50%, without taking on any new staff.” In addition, Aller Tryk has been using a Supra at its plant in Oslo (Norway) since 2008. “We have had some extremely positive experiences at this plant,” says Jesper Jungersen, “and now we are in a position to transfer our production and spare parts expertise from Oslo to Copenhagen.”
