The Roller/Full-surface Pressing Machine RPM/GPM eliminates spine build-ups efficiently and permanently. It prepares Bookblocks with spine build-up in the best of ways for gluing off and further processing and gets the blocks in perfect and lasting shape.
The Roller/Full-surface Pressing Machine RPM/GPM consists of two stations. The bookblock is first run through the RPM Roller Pressing Machine which nips the spine area. Then the bookblock is passed on to GPM Full-Surface Pressing Machine where its entire surface is pressed with a force of up to 30 tons. All air is pressed out of the bookblock to allow for a completely uniform block thickness. As the press with its hydraulic cylinder has a direct effect on the pressing jaws, one hundred percent pressing of the bookblock is guaranteed.
The GPM can press two blocks with maximum heights of 25 cm at the same time. At unchanged machine speed, the bookblock pressing time then almost doubles warranting thus a very high bookblock quality.
If the formats need to be changed, the RPM/GPM automatically adjusts together with the Collibri backgluing machine. The machine operator has the possibility to precision-adjust the machine later on by way of a userfriendly operator panel.
