Uniprint in South Africa Has Added a New Primera C130 to Its Two PrimaPlus Saddle Stitchers
Due to its continuous growth, Uniprint in the South African town of Durban has decided to install a new Primera C130, its third saddle stitcher from Muller Martini.

It has been 14 years since Uniprint first invested in saddle stitching systems from Muller Martini with two PrimaPlus saddle stitchers. Both saddle stitchers are still in operation – just like the Acoro A7 perfect binder from Muller Martini – much to the satisfaction of Managing Director Colin Baxter-Bruce: “However, as we have observed positive growth in the areas of catalogs, brochures and commercial work, it was clear that we needed a third machine.” What’s more, Uniprint processes jobs with print runs of over one million copies, but it also prints many products in shorter print runs in the five-figure range. “That is why we need a solution with fast changeover times,” comments the company’s managing director.

The Primera C130 provides just this thanks to its high level of automation, and Uniprint agreed to the purchase thereof directly at this year’s drupa. “Due to this reason as well as based on our long-term partnership with Muller Martini and its local representation Thunderbolt Solutions, it was clear to us which new saddle stitcher we wanted to purchase,” Baxter-Bruce added. The new Primera C130 has six flat pile feeders, a cover feeder as well as a Perfetto compensating stacker. It will be put into operation this October.
