Prospekt Versand Service in Austria/Hungary Acquires a New Inserting System. Two-Up Production with 50,000 Copies per Hour Makes the Integro 300 the Unbeatable Option for P.V.S.
Erich Romano, managing director of Prospekt Versand Service, based in the Austrian town of Müllendorf, is giving himself and the company a rather special Christmas present this year. P.V.S. is investing in an Integro 300 inserting system from Muller Martini for its production plant in Sopron in the neighboring Hungary, where it produces 1.5 million advertising brochures daily. The special construction of the new inserting system will enable net production of 50,000 copies per hour.

It was 20 years ago that Erich Romano and his business partner Johann Ungerböck came up with the idea of combining leaflets in a bundle, sorting and ordering them, affixing them to a cover and delivering them to households. Two decades later, the business model has been refined somewhat, but the basic principle remains the same.

1.5 Million Advertising Brochures Daily
The company Prospekt Versand Service (P.V.S.), led by Erich Romano as managing director and headquartered in Müllendorf, Austria, produces 1.5 million advertising brochures with inserts daily at its plant in the Hungarian city of Sopron (located about seven kilometers from the Austrian border). Numerous prominent retail chains such as XXXLutz, Kika and Leiner have advertising brochures produced at P.V.S in print runs of between 100,000 and 10 million copies for households in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Croatia.

Now, as in the past, the company, which employs 55 people in Sopron and eight in Müllendorf, relies on the inserting systems of Muller Martini, and will soon acquire a brand-new Integro 300 with two twin feeders and three single feeders, as well as a Robusto compensating stacker. “We already have seven BiLiners and two AlfaLiners from Muller Martini in use, and have had excellent experiences with them over the years,” says Romano. “That was definitely a point in the Integro’s favor when we were considering which new machine to buy.”

A Special Christmas Present
However, it was not the name of the manufacturer that ultimately made up Romano’s mind. The decisive factor was a special construction from Muller Martini that enables P.V.S. to insert brochures, which often have just two inserts, on the Integro 300 in two-up production. “That enables net production of 50,000 copies per hour, which to the best of my knowledge is unbeatable on the market,” says Romano.

Commissioning of the new inserting system is due to take place shortly before the end of the year. “It is a nice Christmas present for me and our company," says Romano with a grin.
