Luinostamp is situated on a site of over 50,000 sq. m., of which more than 20,000 sq. m. are occupied by buildings. Today, the company invests regularly in state-of-the-art technology and is a full-service company that ensures quick turnaround production and quality products.

Rapid production times lead to success
Marco Cattaneo, Managing Director of Luinostamp, quickly realized that, to be successful, fast order processing procedures and quick production turnaround times are of utmost importance. Mr. Cattaneo merged several companies under the corporate name of Luinostamp/Officine Grafiche Garzanti. Today, Luinostamp is a full-service printing house that processes orders quickly and offers premium quality and a wide-ranging service package to its customers.

A high degree of automation is of utmost importance for survival in today’s competitive market. For this reason, existing machinery was upgraded. In the summer of 2006, Luinostamp installed an automatic VenturaConnect Integrated Book Sewing System. Thanks to its versatility, it can be used as a complete system or the thread sewing machines can be used individually for different types of orders. The thread sewing machines are connected to each other through a gathering machine. The stacked signatures are conveyed automatically into the feeders of the stitching machines and further processed to perfectly stitched book blocks.

A few months later, the Diamant 30 Bookline was purchased. According to Mr. Cattaneo, two factors influenced Luinostamp’s decision in favor of Muller Martini’s two systems: «Firstly, the outstanding book quality that we are able to offer to our customers with the VenturaConnect and Diamant 30 and secondly, the service provided by Muller Martini Italy that we have appreciated for so many years.»

First-class book blocks
To produce first-class book blocks, Luinostamp uses the VenturaConnect system with a 24-station gathering machine and two Ventura Thread Sewing Machines with the option of two-up production. Diamant’s joint forming and pressing machine was the determining factor in the purchase of the machine. No other bookline is able to produce such perfect books in such short changeover times. Christian Martinez, Production Manager, is proud of the first two titles that his team produced with the Diamant 30. The first one was a coffee-table book, with a format of 30 cm wide. The second, a small dictionary (7 x 10 cm, 4 cm in thickness) with flexible, synthetic fabric covers.

Diamant 30 – easy to operate
The employees at Luinostamp are enthusiastic about the considerable flexibility and efficiency of the new Diamant 30. Thanks to its high degree of automation, the machine can be changed over very quickly. Size data for subsequent orders can be entered during production and data for repeat orders can be retrieved before production starts.

All these operations can be entered on the Commander’s touch screen which significantly facilitates the machine operators’ tasks. Operators program the machine settings using the Amrys system – with fine tunings made possible during production.
