Oberndorfer Druckerei (Austria) Invests in New Corona C15 Perfect Binder: CirclePrinters Group Boosts its Market Position
Oberndorfer Druckerei GmbH, located near Salzburg (Austria), will strengthen its position in the market with its investment in a Corona C15 perfect binding line from Muller Martini with Sitma components. The printing plant is a member of the CirclePrinters Group, Europe’s largest independent printing and media enterprise.

Oberndorfer Druckerei chiefly prints magazines and catalogs. According to a press release on its website, it anticipates that the new equipment will increase its productivity in double-digit terms. In addition to the Corona C15 perfect binding line with a 12-station gathering machine and an Orbit three-knife trimmer, the company will also commission two Sitma components this summer for inserting inserts, personalized labeling, shrink wrapping and welding at 15,000 cycles per hour. Two state-of-the-art Segbert palletizers with mail sorting capabilities will complete the new line.

Magazines and Catalogs
The new equipment will make CirclePrinters Central Europe one of the most competitive platforms for magazine and catalog production in Europe. The latest investment tops off CirclePrinters’ ambitious investment program that began with investments at J. Fink Druck (Germany) last year. Out of its two sites J. Fink Druck and Oberndorfer Druckerei, CirclePrinters Central Europe operates six high-performance web offset printing presses, i.e. two 80-page presses, two 64/72-page presses, one 48-page press and one 16-page press.

“This equipment allows any finished product from 4 to 88 pages and therefore represents one of the most complete offerings in the industry,” says CirclePrinters. “Additionally, CirclePrinters operates a complete binding and finishing unit including perfect binding, saddle stitching, shrink wrapping, inserting, inkjet personalization and mailing solutions.”

The CirclePrinters Group, whose head office is in the Netherlands, is Europe’s largest independent printing and media enterprise. It employs over 1,700 people at 12 production sites in Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Spain and Sweden and sales offices in France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and Great Britain. In 2013, CirclePrinters printed more than 500,000 tons of paper for magazines, flyers, catalogs and books supplied to over 3,000 customers in 27 countries across Europe, America and Africa. “We’re innovative and create added value for our customers,” says CirclePrinters. “Our service range extends from creative and tailor-made design solutions to mail distribution, and covers all fields of the value creation chain in the graphic arts industry.”
