Welcome to Muller Martini
40-Year Anniversary for Muller Martini in Japan
To mark its 40th anniversary, Muller Martini Japan celebrated its long-lasting partnership with its Japanese customers by holding a seminar on The Future of Book Produc-tion on February 14, 2014.

Despite heavy snow, some 120 key customers traveled to Tokyo from across Japan for the event. Bruno Müller, CEO of Muller Martini, opened the seminar with a talk on The Outlook for Print Media and Print Finishing, and thanked Muller Martini’s Japanese customers for their long-standing loyalty and partnership.

Important partners from the Japanese graphic arts industry gave talks to shed light on the future of book production. The President of Honma Seihon, Toshihiro Honma, spoke about his experiences at Courier, while two representatives of the Japanese publishing house Kodansha, Kenjiro Umezaki, Executive Director Production Division, and Ken Tsunoda, Executive Director Comic Sales Division, discussed single film wrapping for comics, which are popular throughout Japan.

Beat Schweizer, Muller Martini Sales Manager for Japan, told the attentive audience about innovations in print finishing, and also shared practical examples and experiences. On the topic of PUR, the Director of Nihin Shiko, Kiyataka Sakaguchi, spoke about the company’s perfect binding strategy. The seminar was topped off by a live broadcast on Workflow Management with Connex.

The attendees could also admire practical examples: numerous unique book products from over 20 customers were testament to the creativity of Japanese book production.
