The Apila palletizing system: efficient, safe and cost-effective
In the fully automatic Apila palletizing system Muller Martini is offering a new gripper system which allows flexible and efficient palletizing after bundle production, The system can process a wide range of sizes flexibly and with high process reliability and can provide first class stable pallets.

More and more users are asking for gripper systems so that they can be flexible in their choice of palletizing pattern. This is becoming increasingly important due to the wide range of different sizes in the products. In the new Apila Muller Martini is offering a highly flexible system with a large range of sizes and fully automatic size set-up on the gripper. It can be used in-line or off-line in the press delivery or for finishing of saddle-stitched products and anywhere for processing loose, blocked, wrapped or strapped bundles.

The Apila palletizing system can be used as a single cell system with one robot or as a double cell system with two robots. The robot is equipped with a double gripper, which can process two bundles simultaneously at speeds of up to 1,000 bundles/hour. The Apila includes a pallet dispenser for a maximum of twelve pallets. 13 A4 bundles per layer (instead of the usual 12) can be stacked on a Euro pallet. This improves utilization by 8 percent, which leads to a considerable saving in storage and transport costs.
