Open House Event Organized by Stein + Lehmann GmbH and Muller Martini Germany: 200 Visitors Marvel at the Latest Generation of Machines
An joint open house event organized by Stein + Lehmann GmbH and Muller Martini has been a great success: 200 customers from all over Germany visited the Berlin-based bookbindery to discover the latest machines from Muller Martini in the fields of hardcover and softcover production and saddle stitching. The event was summed up under the slogan “Discover modern book binding live...this is how books are really made!”


The demonstrations on the machines attracted a lot of interest from the visitors to the open house event.

Stein + Lehmann has recently invested in three new systems from Muller Martini: a Diamant MC 60 bookline, a Bolero perfect binder and a Primera C140 saddle stitcher. Arno Stein, one of the three managing directors at Stein + Lehmann, explained in his greeting that “even during today’s difficult economic climate, it’s important to increase quality and flexibility in the face of shorter deadlines for our customers. Thanks to faster job changeover times, we can count on significantly higher productivity from all three of our new machines.”

Managing Director of Muller Martini Germany Dr. Wilhelm Neubauer congratulated the company – which as well as numerous accolades for its books also received the 2005 German Printing Industry Innovation Prize – on its bold investment. While presenting a gift to Arno Stein, Dr. Neubauer also offered his best wishes for the company’s continued successful cooperation with its customers.

The demonstrations on the three new machines, the Acoro A5 perfect binder and the two Ventura book sewing machines attracted a lot of interest from the 200 visitors, comprising 150 Stein + Lehmann customers and 50 Muller Martini customers. The visitors flocked to the capital city from across the country with the primary goal of seeing how the diverse capabilities of modern technology can be applied to book binding. The shop talk between customers and Muller Martini and between the individual bookbinders and publishers then continued outdoors as the event was rounded off by a barbecue in the glorious sunshine.
