The draw roller, driven by a servo motor, pulls the skeleton from the web.
Muller Martini has developed a laminating station for the infinitely format variable Alprinta-V offset press. This is located on the equally new Flexo unit.
During production, a UV-Curing laminating glue is applied with the Flexo unit to the substrate. Subsequently in the laminating station, a film is dispensed onto the web that runs through a UV dryer, where the glue is cured with UV radiation.
The laminating station offers ideal parameters for a broad spectrum of applications.
- Unwind unit for rolls with diameter of up to 31-1/2” (800mm), for nearly double as many continuous meters per roll when compared to a 24” (600mm) roll.
- Machine speed of up to 1 200 fpm (365m/min), depending on substrate.
- Film width up to 29-1/8“ (740mm) with Alprinta 74 and 20-1/2” (520mm) with the Alprinta 52.
- Adjustable web tension for optimum flatness of the finished products.
New Matrix Waste removal Station for Self-Adhesive Labels In order to maintain the Alprinta-V’s productivity at maximum speeds of 365 m/min when producing self-adhesive labels, Muller Martini has developed a new matrix waste removal station for this offset printing machine. It was decided to develop a system with a draw roller and doctor blade.
The new system was put through its paces at the Muller Martini open house in Maulburg were it ran at 280 m/min. The labels are die-cut in a rotatary process with die-cutting plates, which are fixed to a magnetic cylinder. On the Alprinta-V the punching depth is set extremely precisely with the help of taper bearers which allow simple readjustment even during production. Alprinta-Vs now in the field are producing with label cutting and matrix waste removal stations in line have proven that these innovations allow unique productivity in the manufacturing of self-adhesive labels.
Advantages of the new Separating Station:
- Very high production speeds are achieved
- Non-stopmatrix wasteremoval
- Adjustable matrix removal via tension roller system
- High operational safety with simplehandling.
