Book stackers can be used flexibly within the in-line system. They stack books or book blocks in a wide variety of combinations. Depending on how the equipment is configured to meet individual customer needs, the book stacker operates as a final stacker or a pass-through stacker for further downstream operations.
The BLSD book stacker stacks up to 3,900 books or book blocks per hour in a variety of combinations. It can be placed very flexibly, e.g. after the joint-forming and pressing machine, the Vesta jacketing machine or packing machines.
Books are handled very gently during the whole process, when they enter the stacker, when they are turned and also when they leave in stacks. This is why even books with most delicate cover materials and jackets are processed with greatest care.
BLSD as Pass-Through Stacker As a straight-through stacker the BLSD is used in in-line systems as a buffer element. This guarantees a continuous production. In case of a downline stop, the stacker automatically switches from pass-through to stacking books on the delivery conveyor.
Time-saving operation In conjunction with the Diamant MC bookline, both stackers are set up centrally via the Commander of the bookline which means that no additional setup time is required. If the stacker is not used in connection with the Diamant MC bookline, the operator inputs book format and stack combination directly at the operator panel of the stacker.
