The “Niederösterreichisches Pressehaus“ is very well prepared for the future with the new modular ProLiner inserting system from Müller Martini.
The newspaper publishing company, the oldest part of the “Niederösterreichisches Pressehaus“, was founded in 1874 and publishes the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten (NÖN), the Niederösterreichische Rundschau and the Burgenländische Volkszeitung (BVZ), which are all newsstand publications. It also distributes the freesheets Unser Niederösterreich, LHZ – Die Landeshauptstadt and the Neue Stadtzeitung. Just the weekly NÖN has 28 different regional editions; there are nine local editions of the BVZ and the NÖ Rundschau. Each of these newspapers already comes with a large number of supplements and special interest magazines - and the trend is growing.
”We developed the ProLiner inserting system with those newspaper publishers in mind who produce a large number of different publications, each with different supplements,” says Volker Leonhardt, Head of Marketing at Müller Martini Versand-Systeme AG. “It offers a very high level of flexibility, makes new creative opportunities available to the producers for product design and inserts the supplements into an appropriate editorial section.”
ProLiner: For newspapers with large numbers of supplements This was reason enough for the Niederösterreichische Pressehaus to invest in the pioneering ProLiner technology from Müller Martini. In August 2008 a ProLiner inserting system with manual main section feed via two streamfeeders will go into operation in St. Pölten. The system has twelve more supplement stations, which are also fed via streamfeeders, and a PromoFeeder for small format supplements. This means that it can produce even very thick newspapers with up to 15 supplements per issue.
The installation will include two NewsStack compensating stackers for efficient, accurate to the copy production of the newspaper package with a TABA system for automatically adding the cover sheet. And the new advanced Mailroom Production Control System (MPC) will ensure that the complex dispatch logistics run smoothly and reliably. |
