If it's outstanding scoring quality you're after, then look no further than the tWinScore scoring wheel used in cover folder feeders. Its design features a scoring wheel with a groove machined to form a W shape so that covers receive two scores extremely close to each other. The big advantage of this method is the fact that the paper fibers are not damaged – even when processing a whole host of cover types and grammages. This means that fibers do not break when folding. The follower wheel maintains a constant distance between the tWinScore wheel and the drum to ensure consistent scoring along the entire length of the cover.
The settings can be easily adjusted externally to suit all cover types. The optional tWinScore therefore replaces both positive and negative scoring completely, so it's time to say goodbye to changeovers. Retrofits for this option are available from Muller Martini for most 1528 and 1529 cover folder feeders currently in use and the modification can be made within a single day.
With the Muller Martini tWinScore technology, the scoring wheel has a groove which forms a W shape so that covers receive two scores extremely close to each other.
