Bauer Druck of Vienna received the prize together with the suppliers Hiflex GmbH, MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG and Muller Martini, in the category of "Application of Most Innovative Technology for Process Automation." A JDF/JMF link-up with a PrimaPlus Amrys saddle stitcher was implemented at Bauer Druck.
The prize will be awarded by Stefan Daun of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics, on behalf of the CIP4 organization, during a press conference at Bauer KG in Vienna, on August 24, 2005.
Action Printing of Fond-du-Lac, Wisconsin (USA), another Muller Martini user, received the CIPPI award in the category of "Best cost/benefit realization as a result of process automation implementation." At Action Printing, a continuous workflow solution with an internal MIS system was implemented.
The fact that two companies with Muller Martini saddle stitchers were both able to win the first prize underscores the leading position that Muller Martini holds in JDF-linking of saddle stitchers.
