With a daily capacity of up to 15, 000 books, Buchbinderei Burkhardt AG ranks among the major manufacturers of handcrafted and industrial bookbinding products in Switzerland.Using state-of-the-art technology, the company produces thread-sewn and perfect-bound books and leaflets of all circulation sizes.
BUBU has recently commissioned a new Muller Martini Collibri backgluing machine and, in so doing, the company replaced the equipment of another manufacturer. The new Collibri is equipped with an Amrys Make-ready system, which enables short change-over times. Thanks to the two-shot glue application (Primer-Hotmelt) and optimized drying section, BUBU is perfectly equipped for today’s market requirements. Due to the excellent results achieved with the current Muller Martini Bookline, BUBU has again relied on Muller Martini. Furthermore, BUBU will install a brand new Diamant 60 Bookline by the end of this year. A high degree of automation, a continuous workflow and the compact touch screen of the new book production system will further enhance efficiency at Buchbinderei Burkhardt AG.
After the commissioning of the new Ventura thread sewing machine in 2005 and the installation of the new Muller Martini system, BUBU “book architect” is perfectly equipped to produce standard hardcover books as well as books with integral-, full-flap or plastic covers with extraordinary book binding quality. |
