Spühler Druck AG in Rüthi (CH) opts for continuity and quality
Spühler Druck AG in Rüti in the Canton of Zurich and Müller Martini Druckmaschinen GmbH, in the southern German town of Maulburg have long enjoyed a close partnership. For many years now, Spühler Druck have been manufacturing high-quality printed products with the aid of three web offset presses Concept and Concept NT from Muller Martini. Their satisfaction has been further underlined by Spühler Druck’s decision to opt for continuity and to replace a 12-year old 8-color Concept with a new 8-color Concepta this summer.

Looking optimistically into a shared future (from left to right) Alois Hochstrasser (Director, Müller Martini Marketing AG), Toni Bruhin (owner, Spühler Druck AG), Yves Rogivue (Corporate Management at Muller Martini), Heinrich Bundi (Head of Printing, Spühler Druck AG) and Roland Gautschi (Sales Manager at Muller Martini Switzerland)

Spühler Druck AG is one of the top addresses in Switzerland for the production of direct mailings, continuous printing, deposit slips, total market coverage, laser forms and other printed products in the highest quality. This company sets great store by customer proximity - the closer the better - and by top quality and therefore permanent optimization of their production equipment is of the highest importance. With this upgrade, Spühler are again demonstrating their faith in cutting edge Muller Martini technology, based on their experience of the Concept line benefits. Therefore, in this summer, a 12-year-old Concept will be replaced by a new Concepta web offset press.

The new 8-color Concepta is configured for roll - roll, roll - fold and roll - sheet production. The control system is integrated in the printing workflow via the CIP standard; this automatically sets up the press with data from the prepress and the make-ready system. Data from repeat orders is also recognized and can be reproduced exactly. This ensures a fast size and job changeover, shorter make-ready times and less start-up waste. With a web speed of 365m per minute, the new Concepta is not only faster than its predecessor model, but also, thanks to its improved inking system and integrated ink control system, it also produces even higher quality printing. The new Concepta brings Spühler better performance with lower operating costs, thanks to a reduction in energy costs from the UV drying which will further improve competitiveness in the tough printing market.

Other factors in favor of Muller Martini’s Concepta are that the operators are very familiar with the Muller Martini technology and that existing inserts from the Concept series can be used in the new Concepta. - At Spühler Druck, there is clear conviction that with this new investment, the company is going the right way to guarantee their customers highest quality, readiness to deliver and delivery reliability.
