Without a doubt, the most striking features are the new outfit in fresh Laserblue and the consistently implemented ergonomic design. One of the important improvements that takes account of ergonomic principles is the control panel which is now placed at the optimum height on the delivery side of the printing unit to facilitate the set-up operation. Moreover, the protective cover on the printing unit now slides rather than hinges, which makes changing the insert easier.
The Concepta in the new outfit – more ergonomic, more attractive, better.
The Concepta can also boast technical improvements in the automatic register control system and the ink control system. The new AR 4000 digital register controller locates the print marks much more quickly, the detection range is larger and the response speed of the system can be increased with the use of several cameras. The IDM 4000 in-line ink control system, presented for the first time at drupa on the Alprinta V, is also available for the Concepta. It measures and regulates the ink during production. This reduces set-up waste and make-ready time considerably, which also means that fewer resources are consumed. The new in-line ink control system also achieves a very high level of consistency throughout a print run. This means that the product is top quality from the start and the first copy looks exactly like the last. As an alternative to the in-line version, Muller Martini also offers a reasonably priced semi-automatic ink density control system.
The Concepta is also available configured optionally for all delivery modes (roll-roll, roll-sheet and roll-fold) at a production speed of 365 m/min. There are also environmental improvements: thanks to the facility to pre-set the press by taking over workflow data (CIP3/CIP4 interfaces) for ink control and register control, it has been possible to reduce waste significantly..
Cost-effective and flexible High print quality, ease of use, and good accessibility are the distinguishing features of the Concepta. With its flexible size range, it covers a broad order spectrum. In addition to paper, it can be used to print on many different types of substrate, such as paper-like materials, plastic or aluminum foil. Thanks to the modular construction with up to 12 offset printing units and the option to integrate flexo, screen and digital printing, it is possible to implement tailor-made solutions. With the flexible insert system, the printing size can be adjusted from 14” to 281/3” very quickly and with no need for tools. Furthermore, with a flexo printing insert, each offset printing unit can be transformed into a flexo printing unit.
The Concepta will be on show under production conditions on the Kodak-Versamark stand with an unwinder, four offset-printing units, a Kodak-Versamark digital printing unit for the application of variable data, UV drying, a motorized sliding ink fountain with touchscreen remote control and a QS52 sheeter with an integrated stapler.
