Koopmanndruck in Stuhr: “The Trend Towards High Quality Mailings With Finishing Continues Uninterrupted.”
Koopmanndruck in Stuhr near Bremen specializes in high quality mailings with finishing. Many of these are printed on an eight-color Concepta. Koopmanndruck uses this in addition to several other web offset machines from Muller Martini.

Card-in® (thin, integrated plastic cards), Card-in®-Mirror (a mirror in the paper), Label-in® (integrated self-adhesive labels), Label-on® (advertising under the label), fragranced varnishes, Iriodin, watermarks, magical colors – the list of patented finishing products from Koopmanndruck is just as long as it is unique.

“The trend towards high quality mailings with finishing continues uninterrupted”, says Folker Neetzow, Authorized Signatory at Koopmanndruck, which never ceases to amaze its customers with new, innovative products.

New Concepta: Excellent Color Quality, Convenient Operation
Koopmanndruck has been producing high quality print advertising on web offset printing presses from Muller Martini since 1995. The Concepta, which was installed during the move in 2006 and has eight printing units, is put to use for virtually the entire innovative palette of printing products. It will be further expanded and then replace a ten color Concept. Folker Neetzow is particularly happy with the excellent color quality and convenient operation of the new Concepta.

Moreover, their printing inserts are compatible with four Concepts still in daily use. A special feature of the new Concepta is a UV-pulling-cooling station following the last printing unit. This makes it possible to print thermally sensitive substrates such as thin films. The register controls and the UV dryer were integrated into the Concepta controls for the first time. “The central control panel makes operating the machine very clear and convenient” says Klaus Vogel, Manager of Development and Application Engineering at Koopmanndruck.

Covers – Finished in Many Ways
Among the specialties of Koopmanndruck are difficult, large sized covers for books, brochures and magazines. These covers are almost perfect for many kinds of finishing such as fragrances, spot or full UV-coating or various printable scratch-off inks. These many different kinds of covers can be used for both perfect bound as well as saddle stitched products.

Card-in® and Card-in®-Mirror – the Intelligent Cards
Whether a loyalty card, coupon, exhibition ID card, membership card, public transport ticket or admission pass – Card-in® makes it possible to bind customers longer. “Technically, printing Card-in® is simple”, says Folker Neetzow, “but in terms of finishing it is a challenge.” A film is applied to the front and/or reverse side. Then it is die cut and because of the lamination a high quality plastic card results. It is also possible to personalize these or give them a barcode. Several layers of lamination can be applied as well. A very special advertising trick is the Card-in®-Mirror. Which customer wouldn’t risk a glance in the mirror?

Fragranced Varnish – Advertising with a Pleasant Scent
Combined with scratch-off ink, fragranced varnishes are enjoying growing popularity and are being used with mailings more and more frequently. The trick is simple: Micro-capsules with fragrances which burst very finely when they are scratched, giving off a scent of say fresh apples, a bouquet of roses or a Christmas spice aroma. Fragranced varnishes awaken pure emotions and guarantee that the advertising message is some what different than what we all see normally.
