The Concepta web offset press excels in high print quality, easy handling and quick make ready. With a variable size range extending from 14” to 28 1/3” (356 mm - 720 mm), this model covers a broad spectrum of jobs. It also prints on a wide variety of materials, e.g. laminated paper, paper-like materials, plastic film and aluminum foil. The printed web can be delivered as rolls, cut-sheets or in zigzag-fold.

The Concepta is a superb modern technically advanced printing press equipped to meet the tough demands of Direct Mail, Security printing and commercial applications.

Thanks to its modular design accommodating up to twelve offset towers and the integration of flexo, screen and digital printing, the Concepta opens the way to customized solutions.
In constantly advancing its printing machines, Muller Martini concentrates on waste reduction and reducing make-ready times. The MRS (Make Ready System) was presented at Drupa in 2004. This system, integrated as a basic version in the Concepta, allows job data to be directly acquired via a CIP3/4 connection. The press is preset with the data in readiness for the start of production.

New semi-automatic ink density control
In some cases, the print quality reached by the CIP 3/4 preset will be sufficient. However, in high quality applications, such as Direct Mail and Commercial printing etc, the ink settings on the printing units must be finely adjusted. The Concepta can be equipped with the new ink density control thus reducing waste considerably. A printed sheet is scanned into the system, and the calculated correction suggestion is accepted by the integrated remote ink control, which uses the calculated values to optimize the ink ducts in all towers. This innovative addition to colour control is Muller Martini’s response to the premium print products which are produced nowadays on high performance web offset presses and were previously reserved to sheet-fed and commercial web offset.

The integrated colour control with semi-automatic ink density control allows for significant waste reduction.

New: 100% Print Inspection
100% print inspection is a further innovation for the printing of Security and Pharmaceutical leaflet printing. This allows print quality to be monitored and documented at speeds up to 305 m/min. The system warns the operator of sudden deviations in the printing quality such as ink splashes and paper flaws, as well other quality shortcomings like toning, colour variations and hickeys. The operator can enter an individual setting for each application defining the point from which an event is detected as an error and the response to that error. The camera is compact, so no increase in machine length is required. This configuration is ideal for Pharmaceutical and Security printing, but is also attracting a growing number of fans in Direct Mail and Label printing due to its 100% quality control and quality documentation which can reduce expensive complaint costs.
