Graph Expo in Chicago under the motto “Embrace Technology”
Muller Martini presents solutions for traditional and digital printing technologies: Visitors to the Graph Expo in Chicago were able to see live demonstrations of innovative technologies for both traditional and digital printing production at Muller Martini's trade booth.

Keeping with the motto of the Graph Expo, “Embrace Technology”, Muller Martini presented at its booth a wide range of innovative technologies, which can help printing houses and book binders to hold their ground in a competitive market.  In response to the increasing demand from book binders to the printing houses they work with for digital alternatives, Muller Martini offers a wide range of solutions for both traditional and digital production that maintain a high level of quality without time loss. The live demonstrations covered, in particular:

Muller Martini presented at its booth a wide range of innovative technologies, which can help printing houses and book binders to hold their ground in a competitive market.

 SigmaLine Digital Book Production Line: This line optimizes the inline production of single copies and short-term jobs. Operating at a speed of 1,000 cycles per second, the line produces books of all sizes and offers the complete flexibility of a near-line configuration, which ensures the high productivity of an inline workflow and produces complete books from one single source.

 Orbit Three-Knife Trimmer: The trimmer makes it easy to switch between offset and digital printing jobs – even for three-sided trims – within just three minutes, as the astonished visitors to the booth were able to see for themselves.  The Muller Martini experts demonstrated how settings can be optimized even during production in a way that facilitates a high net output in the shortest possible time.

 Primera Digital: The new saddle stitching system from Muller Martini accommodates both digital and conventional signatures in the print finishing process. This innovative solution opens up the market for full-color digitally printed magazines, periodicals and brochures. Numerous products were produced directly at the company’s booth live and on the fly.

 SigmaTrimmer: The only fully-automated three-knife trimmer on the market was developed for the production of both small and large print runs regardless of whether products are produced digitally or in an offset printing process. The highly-efficient digital trimming unit is designed to impress with shortest possible Make Ready and is thus ideal for the production of single copies.

Representatives from MMServices were also available at the booth to provide information on the extensive range of services to customers and visitors. MMServices increases net output and helps customers to get the most from their existing equipment.

“We’re pleased that our ‘Connect with MM Digital’ theme was right on target,” commented Werner Naegeli, President of Muller Martini USA. “As we noted at last year’s Graph Expo, visitors to our booth are expressing more and more interest in digital solutions that can complement their traditional bindery business. Both manufacturing solutions will continue to be relevant. And Muller Martini will continue to provide the industry with the type of technology that satisfies the evolving demands of customers—while helping to grow business.”
