Log & Print in São Paulo: Delivering the Weekly Journals Promptly With Two New Tempo 22 Saddle Stitchers
Log & Print Gráfica e Logística S.A., based inSão Paulo, Brazil, has invested in two new Tempo 22 high-performance saddle stitchers from Muller Martini in a bid to secure high-productivity processing of its weekly journals.

The Tempo 22 high-performance saddle stitcher from Muller Martini provides quick setup and job changeover times thanks to its simple operating philosophy.

"We have used Muller Martini systems since 1992," says Industrial Director Rodney Paloni Casadei. "Over the years, we have come to truly value the impressive reliability of the saddle stitcher and perfect binder, as well as the excellent After Sales Service provided by Muller Martini." Log & Print Gráfica e Logística S.A.  has had a Tempo 20 saddle stitcher in its arsenal since 2001, and Rodney Paloni Casadei is impressed by the high productivity it generates. "For this reason," he says, "we didn't want to take any risks with our new investment and so we opted for the Tempo 22, another high-performance Muller Martini system. We will be commissioning the new machine in July." Log & Print Gráfica e Logística S.A. was founded in 1992 under the name Globo Cochrane. The company produces several weekly journals as well as other publications. "It's vital that we generate a high production speed in order to ensure that these publications are delivered on schedule," stresses Rodney Paloni Casadei.

The Tempo 22 saddle stitcher is a tried-and-tested production system; it supports economical multishift operation owing to its sophisticated control system featuring operating data collection, job management and a JDF connection that provides for efficient production of magazines, brochures and catalogs. The key axes are automated and job data for repeat jobs can be stored in the machine, which means that the system is ready to go in a trice. When the size is input, the feeder, the stitching machine and the downstream machines are automatically synchronized on a product-specific basis. The infeed, product width and product thickness are automatically preset in the three-knife trimmer. The Tempo 22 is controlled via the MMAP (Muller Martini Automation Platform). This enables a quick overview of the entire production flow and the simple operating philosophy results in quick setup and job changeover times.
