Supra Saddle Stitcher

With the Supra, Muller Martini is offering a new high-performance saddle stitching system for the efficient manufacture of magazines and catalogs in the millions. The saddle stitcher offers the ideally suited cost-effective solution for every customer with production requirements in the high-performance sector.

The Supra Saddle Stitcher is distinguished by

  • superior net output
  • reliable feeding and stitching
  • twin stitching unit (boxer principle)
  • modular building-block principle
  • CIP4 compliance
  • ease of operation
  • excellent trim quality
  • flexible expansion options

Reliable Feeder Concept
The market proven flat pile feeder has been further developed and fitted with innovative accelerating rollers. For performance up to 25 000 cycles per hour, the Supra is used with the feeder 416 in 1:1 mode. For performance up to 30 000 cycles per hour, the feeder places the signatures on the gathering chain in 1:2 mode. Two feeders place the signatures staggered on every second chain pitch. This ensures that the signatures are neatly processed, even at high output.

Innovative stitching design
Each stitching assembly stitches only every second product, the innovative boxer principle provides reliable and vibration-free stitching, cutting the stitching time in half.

Innovative trimming design
Muller Martini has again proved itself to be an innovator when it comes to trimming: a new design of crank trimmer can trim products up to 13 mm (1") thick whilst running at top production speeds. Books are accurately aligned in the infeed and pulled through the crank trimmer with a double gripper. The upper and lower knives mounted on cranks trim the books at full speed. This innovative crank-operating system guarantees superior trim quality of every single copy, even at top speeds.

Automatic Presetting
Thanks to automation of the most important axes and the ability to save job data for repeat jobs, the Supra saddle stitcher is ready to go in no time...resulting in cost-effective production of your jobs. The size input automatically synchronizes the feeders, the stitching machine and subsequent machines. In the crank trimmer, the infeed and product length (head and foot trim as well as spine length) are automatically preset.

Specifications max.
Mechanical speed 30,000 cycles/h
