Alprinta and Concepta – Now Even Better Access to the Printing Units
The Alprinta and Concepta web offset presses have become even more user-friendly.

The Alprinta, whose strength lies in its high-quality commercial work and mailings, has covers on its printing units which now slide, rather than hinge. This minimizes the danger of damage to the door during an insert change. Previously, the operators had occasionally needed to climb over the carriage and open the swing door fully, in order to avoid a collision.

The protective cover on the Alprinta and Concepta printing units now slides, rather than hinges.

The footstep on the printing unit has been set back so that the operator can get closer to the printing unit. This improvement also applies to the Concepta and makes it easier to clean the rubber blanket and the plate, and puts less strain on the print workers’ backs.

Also, there are now two steps up to the printing unit, which makes it more accessible. Print workers of shorter stature benefit from more height when cleaning the ink fountain and replenishing the ink. The hand wheels in the perforation area have been sunk into the casing.

There were also two important ergonomic improvements made at the Concepta, which processes various substrates, such as paper (also laminated), materials similar to paper such as plastic films and aluminum foils. The control panel has been moved to the delivery side of the printing unit, which improves the set-up process. As on the Alprinta, the protective cover on each of the printing units now slides, rather than hinges.

The Alprinta V uses a recently developed flexo printing unit for the hybrid machines that print on paper and on film, and which are required for package and label printing. This printing unit is as infinitely size variable as are offset printing units thanks to servo-driven technology.
