Happy faces at Gersag Druck AG: (right to left) General Manager Willy Fehn, Equipment Manager Josef Herger, Roland Gautschi (Muller Martini Sales Manager) and trainee Stefan Müller in front of the new Presto.
Gersag Druck AG in Emmenbrücke is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koprint AG in Alpnach. Both companies adhere to the principle of utilizing separate sites with specialized staff, technical and logistic synergies to benefit their clients.
The plant in Emmenbrücke, with its staff of twelve, offers a complete range of services...including prepress to data management, printing, finishing, direct mail service and plotting, as well as digital printing of monochrome and multiple-color small runs in all formats.
Gersag Druck AG has had many years of successful experience in print finishing with the 1509 saddle stitcher and with Muller Martini as a dependable partner. The longevity of its success with Muller Martini was reason enough to turn to the company when it came time for Gersag Druck AG to replace its equipment. The excellent demonstration of the Presto saddle stitcher at the Muller Martini training center in Oftringen – along with a good personal relationship – resulted in Muller Martini getting the nod again. In May 2006, a Presto saddle stitcher with three double feeders, cover feeder, three-knife feeder and streamfeeder was installed in Emmenbrücke. With speeds up to 9,000 cycles per hour, the Presto stitcher is perfect for producing small and medium print runs. The Presto is equipped with a touchscreen for easy operation, and, it can be operated using a speed control and a switch for production start and production stop. The integrated book length control monitors all signatures to see that they are properly jogged up on the gathering chain. Incomplete products are dependably rejected thanks to the new side caliper (SEMKO). Gersag Druck AG is also well equipped for special jobs. The saddle stitcher line offers the option of quadruple loop stitching. Also, the last feeder can be filled – making it possible, for example, to manually load die-cut signature.
With the new Presto saddle stitcher, Gesag AG will be able to continue to meet its company slogan: “We combine professional competence with state-of-the-art technology to benefit our clients.” |
