The Zug family business, Kalt-Zehnder-Druck AG, now in its third generation, is being run by Felix Kalt. They are traditional city printers who are technologically up-to-date and want to advise and accompany its customers from development through printing right up to delivery.
In finishing they have, for many years, invested in Muller Martini’s sophisticated technology as well as long-term partnership relationships with the Swiss machine equipment company. It is no surprise that, following 30 years producing quality products with a saddle stitcher 235, Kalt-Zehnder-Druck has once again chosen a Muller Martini saddle stitcher for the replacement investment. Thus in January this year a new Presto saddle stitcher with three twin feeders, a cover feeder, a three-knife trimmer and a shingle delivery began operation.
The Presto saddle stitcher, with speeds of up to 9000 cycles per hour, is ideally suited for small and medium runs. A touch screen allows the system to be easily operated and an integrated long book control checks whether all signatures are neatly jogged up on the gathering chain. Incomplete products are dependably rejected thanks to the new side thickness measurement (SEMKO). The new saddle stitcher line also uses the quadruple loop stitching option.
The Kalt-Zehnder-Druck AG is fully equipped for the increased requirements in finishing with their new Presto saddle stitcher.
