The Primera 140 is the powerful and highly efficient saddle stitcher for the mid performance range. Thanks to a new, ergonomic design and modern control concept, it is extremely user-friendly and can be setup quickly and easily. The Primera 140 is a flexible production line tailored to the requirements of print finishing. Important technological findings from the high end range are included in the Primera 140. In this way an extremely reliable saddle stitcher developed which guarantees a high degree of efficiency and thus an optimum competitive position.

Flexible Layout solutions
The modular design makes it possible to expand the saddle stitcher individually. The broad range of configuration possibilities and the large range of sizes allow flexible job planning. Automatic loading, gathering, stitching, trimming, inserting, film wrapping, addressing and palletizing – integrated in an inline production line mean that the Primera 140 covers the whole value-added chain of print finishing.
Ergonomic operating concept
The operating concept of the Primera 140 was created in line with the most recent ergonomic guidelines. The local operating units and the central touchscreen provide a high level of comfort. The operation is very conveniently arranged and simply structured. This means the Primera 140 can be changed over quickly and in a short time it reaches high net outputs.
Primera C140: Automatic synchronization
With this model, feeder and gathering chain are automatically synchronized. Before the start of production the optimum coupling position of the feeders are calculated via the sizes entered. They are automatically engaged in the calculated position and in the preset timing ratio via a pneumatic coupling.
Primera E140: Automatic format setting
with Amrys The Primera E140 is equipped with Amrys (Automatic Make Ready System). Feeder, stitching machine, three-knife trimmer and stacker are quickly and automatically set to the desired size. With the shortest setup time on the market, the saddle stitcher is quickly ready for production of any job.
Process integration thanks to digital workflow
The Primera 140 saddle stitcher is JDF/JMF-enabled and it can be integrated into the digital workflow with the Muller Martini workflow system, Connex. In this way the direct, reciprocal Communication between the company management information system (MIS) and the finishing is guaranteed.
Flexible and secure processing of signatures
The reliable feeders guide the signatures extremely efficiently due to the four gripper principle and are quickly ready via the set-up wizard. They’re mounted on a solid, vibration reduced universal base, can be arranged in any order and are movable within a very short time. The flat pile feeder processes all signature types with low folio, high folio and without lap.
Exact trimming
The very robust and practically designed threeknife trimmer 459 with its high cutting quality, easy operation and intelligent hood design for inspection and accessibility gives a convincing impression. With its optimized cutting dynamics and automatic front cut correction it guarantees excellent trimming.
