Graphitec in Paris: Muller Martini Presents the new Orbit Three-Knife Trimmer
Orbit – the Ideal Three-Knife Trimmer for the Upper Performance Range. Muller Martini will attend Graphitec with a world premiere: The new Orbit high-performance three-knife trimmer will be shown for the first time at an exhibition. With its innovative technology and full automation, this three-knife trimmer is ideally suited for use in the upper performance range – at the highest net capacity.

In addition to impeccable gathering, perfect binding and delivery out of the binder, Orbit’s final trimming process is a decisive factor in creating perfect products.Among the benefits that the new Orbit offers are:

-Best price performance ratio due to the highest net output
-Consistently high product quality across the entire production range
-Fast make-ready times through a high degree of automation
-Simplest operation.

In three-knife trimming, consistent cutting conditions are a prerequisite for uniformly high product quality. For this reason, Muller Martini developed the new SmartPress technology, which provides for a gentle pressing process in which air between the paper can fully escape from the product.

The swing cut principle has also been further optimized with the decoupling of all drives. The speed of the pulling movements of the knives during the trim have been increased. This enables extraordinary quality of the trimming surface and perfectly trimmed book spines.Jobs with even the highest quality demands can be produced on time and efficiently with the new Orbit.

The new high-performance Orbit three-knife trimmer can be seen demonstrated in production for the first time at IPEX, in Birmingham (from April 4 - 11, 2006), at the Muller Martini booth (Hall 5 D-10), together with a Bolero adhesive binding line.
