LabelExpo, Brüssel: The New Equipment Range from Muller Martini Attracts Interest of Printers
The printing unit of the Alprinta 52V web offset printing press, which was showcased at the Muller Martini stand at the LabelExpo in Brussels, attracted just as much attention from the crowds of show visitors as the information on the new VSOP series. These products are helping Muller Martini to expand its strong position in the packaging and label printing market.

It was clear at the Muller Martini stand that there were significantly more visitors at the LabelExpo event than expected.

It was clear at the Muller Martini stand that there were significantly more visitors at the LabelExpo event than expected (almost the same number as two years ago) – there was a huge volume of visitors on all four days of the exhibition. Various discussions with printers revealed that offset technology for label printing has picked up again, which is why more efficient label production was in the front of most of the show visitors' minds. And with the advantages it brings, web offset printing is in a position to contribute significantly to this.

To cater to these requirements, Muller Martini exhibited a printing unit from the Alprinta 52V web offset printing press at its stand, which was a third larger than in 2007. Visitors were also informed about the new Muller Martini VSOP series, one of the hot topics at the LabelExpo. Muller Martini has acquired the patents for Variable Sleeve Offset Printing from Drent Goebel and will integrate this series designed for flexible package printing and cardboard-box printing into its product range at the end of this year. This development will serve to further strengthen Muller Martini's market position, as well as completing the company's range of printing presses.

Demonstrations on a sleeve seaming machine also took place at the Karlville stand at the event in Brussels, using shrink sleeve film printed on an Alprinta V. This joint project enabled Muller Martini, INEOS Films and Karlville to demonstrate their expertise across the entire shrink sleeve production process. In addition, this year saw the first "blue hour" at the Muller Martini stand at the LabelExpo, where for two hours each evening visitors could listen to lounge music and chat to one another and Muller Martini representatives in a relaxed atmosphere.
