The Robusto Compensating Stacker is a high-performance machine for integrated production with high-end saddle stitchers. It produced high-quality compensated or uncompensated stacks at a speed of up to 30,000 copies per hour. Due to its high degree of automation the Robusto is perfectly suited for in-line mailing and distribution by postal route. It is optimally prepared for the integration into in-line packing lines with film and shrink wrapping, addressing and palletizing systems.

User-friendly, compact controls
Operation of the Robusto is based on a human-machine interface system (HMI). Product sizes and stack configuration can be easily and quickly entered on the display. The stacker uses the Muller Martini Automation Platform (MMAP) which is fully integrated with the controls of the saddle stitcher.

For even quicker and more automated job setup it can optionally be equipped with the Amrys automatic makeready system.

Reliable product infeed
The infeed of the Robusto is product size independent and requires no manual intervention for size changeovers. The type of transfer from the three-knife trimmer or inserting machine is selectable to allow processing in a shingle stream or single copies. Because its infeed height is adjustable it can be connected to any saddle stitcher of its performance class. Copies travelling in a shingle stream are accurately counted even at high speeds by a laser count head.

Gentle processing by the turntable
Products are reliably separated by a set of forks in the prestacking compartment. A layer lift lowers the prestacked layers to the turntable. The low product drop from the stacking compartment to the lowering device ensures neatly aligned and counted stacks with compensated or uncompensated layers. The Robusto is suitable for both 1-up and 2-up production.

Stacking by postal route
Because of its short cycle time the Robusto is well suited for production by postal route as well as for key bundles. Through an interface to a host control system the stacker can also be used for selective binding. In addition, it is prepared for ZIP code sorting.
