Tempo E220 Saddle Stitcher

The Tempo E220 saddle stitcher is a tried-and-tested saddle stitching system for efficient multishift operation. The proven advanced technology guarantees high net output in the production of magazines, brochures and catalogs.

The Tempo E220 saddle stitcher sets itself apart through:

  • High net output
  • Quick, safe setup
  • Simple operation
  • Exceptional process reliability
  • Flexible expansion options
  • JDF/JMF compatibility in accordance with the CIP4 production standard
  • MMRemote compatibility

Simple Operation
The Tempo E220 is controlled via an intuitive setup wizard that ensures efficient production. The machine is even simpler to set up and operate thanks to easy-to-understand touch screen displays and local operating units. In order to reach the maximum production speed as quickly as possible, fine adjustments can even be made on-the-fly. The optimizer can be used at any time to analyze the current production run and highlight potential improvements. The sizes can be conveniently measured using a sheet measuring device. The measurements are transferred at the touch of a button in the setup wizard.

Compact Gathering Chain and Accelerating Rollers for Increased Productivity
To allow magazines, brochures and catalogs to be produced reliably and cost-effectively at speeds of up to 22,000 cycles per hour, the Tempo E220 is equipped with a compact gathering chain. A narrow profile improves signature stability during transport. In addition, accelerating rollers in the feeder ensure that the saddle stitcher quickly reaches optimum production speeds.

Expansion Capabilities — Introducing the New Mobile Merchandise Tipper 382
The modular system delivers outstanding flexibility and virtually unlimited expansion capabilities, meaning flexible solutions for inserting, addressing, palletizing and selective binding can be integrated into the system. The new mobile merchandise tipper 382 is used to affix samples, cards, mini-leaflets, DVDs, CDs and sticky notes and has a high-mounted feeder compartment. The products can be glued in or electrostatically blocked.

Energy-Saving Function
New technology is used to secure lower costs for energy production and distribution. The loading process and compressed air supply are now automatically deactivated as soon as the machine stops, and are activated immediately when production starts up. What’s more, the compressed air is distributed from a central location and is only deployed to feeders that are in use. Using two separate compressed air circuits for the gathering chain and feeders means that the blow air can be obtained on demand.

New MMRemote Service
The new MMRemote service delivers additional production reliability. The Tempo E220's online connection ensures a significant reduction in the costs relating to downtime, maintenance and service work. As a result of having a direct line to Muller Martini service specialists, equipment downtime in emergency situations is reduced by up to 50%.
