Muller Martini once again hosts business-building seminar series at Graph Expo

Joins industry leaders in presenting the latest in digital manufacturing opportunities and solutions

As was the case at Graph Expo 2010, Muller Martini conducted two well-attended seminars at this year’s Graph which focused on exciting new opportunities afforded by the continued emergence of digital manufacturing technology.

“Photo-Rich Books: Market Opportunities and How You Can Get Involved” informed attendees how they could get started printing photo-rich and personalized communications.  Presentations revealed the myriad of markets that are producing photo books, including vacation resorts and real estate firms.  In addition, photo book manufacturers spoke about the challenges they were facing and lessons learned.  The seminar featured a distinguished panel of industry experts, including Steve Brown, President, CDS Publications; Kirsty Traill, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Snapfish; Bryan Payne, Director of Business Development, Books on Demand and Photo Books, Astley Gilbert; Dr. Mark Mizen, Director of Digital Development, Creative Memories; and Rob Tolmie, Managing Director, Photo Create.  The seminar was moderated by Jim Kaeli, Division Manager, Book and Publication Binding at Muller Martini.

Muller’s second seminar offering, “Digital Book Manufacturing: How You Can Get Started” detailed current trends as well as the technology options available when migrating to the digital arena.  Industry-leading end-users and digital print engine manufacturers shared their first-hand experience which included global perspectives from Hewlett-Packard and Kodak.  The panel featured Bill Schweinfurth, Director Market Development, Digital Printing Solutions, Kodak; Peter Doyle, Executive Vice President, Bradford & Bigelow; Doug Sexton, Global Publishing Strategies, Hewlett Packard; and Mike Collinge, President & CEO, Webcom.  The seminar was moderated by Andy Fetherman, Division Manager of Digital Solutions for Muller Martini.  Mr. Fetherman also discussed Muller’s digital finishing solutions, in particular, the scalable SigmaLine digital book manufacturing system.

Audience reaction to both seminars was highly positive.  Attendees found the varied perspectives and experiences provided by the panelists particularly valuable.  Muller Martini plans to continue to offer seminars during Graph Expo in order to help grow business for printers and binders.
