Muller Martini’s Book Data Center: more efficiency and convenience for machine operators

Engineered for Acoro, Bolero and Corona adhesive binding systems, Muller’s new BDC (Book Data Center) enables all relevant book measurement data for the entire perfect binding line to be recorded and retrieved by individual machines

Muller Martini has been perfecting the art of perfect binding for decades.  Now, the company has introduced versatile new technology designed to add even more efficiency to Muller perfect binders while increasing the productivity of bookbinding businesses.

Muller’s new Book Data Center comprises a measuring table on a moveable base unit.  The BDC’s state-of-the-art control system features an intuitive touchscreen to assist the machine operator during operation.  Among the benefits of the BDC are:

• Book data is accurately measured for the entire perfect binding line
• Only minimal precision adjustments are needed to achieve top-rate quality
• The entire perfect binding line can be changed over and readied for production immediately
• Faulty inputs are a thing of the past
• Subsequent orders can be prepared using the BDC

The new electronic BDC enables book mass data to be recorded and that data can be utilized for setting up the rotary gathering machine, stream feeder, perfect binder, front trimmer, splitting saw/turnover belt, three-knife trimmer and counter stacker.  The Book Data Center is also linked to the controls of the line assemblies.  Once the measurement process is complete, relevant data can be directly transferred to the line assemblies.  The effective set-up time is reduced to a minimum because subsequent orders can be prepared on the BDC during production.

Muller Martini’s Book Data Center can be retrofitted for use with touchscreen-equipped perfect binding lines purchased during the past few years.
