Innovation Award for SPN Side Gluing Nozzle Goes to Muller Martini

On September 24, the SPN side gluing nozzle received the prestigious 2009 Innovation Award in the finishing and converting category at PrintNight in Stuttgart, Germany.

The new PUR side gluing technology from Muller Martini has delivered. SPN technology, which took third place in the German trade magazine readers' poll, allows the most diverse of materials to be processed reliably, and always with excellent binding strength. The side gluing nozzle creates an adhesive binding that ensures high-quality, long-life products and opens up a whole range of new product make-up options. The specific properties of PUR adhesive mean that side-glued products are also much more resistant to high temperatures and aging processes. “We are really pleased to accept the German Printing Industry's Innovation Award for the third time on behalf of Muller Martini,” explains Zdenek Mazura, Product Manager at Muller Martini Bookbinding Systems AG. “The fact that the readers have chosen the SPN side gluing nozzle demonstrates that we know and meet the needs of our customers with our technical developments.”

This is the sixth time the German Printing Industry has presented its Innovation Awards in recognition of innovative products, services and technological solutions. The competition is designed to honor and promote the printing industry, both internally and externally.
