Solit Three-Knife Trimmer

The Solit Three-Knife Trimmer impresses by providing the shortest set-up times in its class, with consistent automation and tool-less changeovers. The innovative SmartPress Technology, which has already proven its worth in the upper performance range, ensures first-class quality for both perfect bound and thread-sewn products.

In addition to very short set-up times, another key feature is the ability to integrate the machine into the digital workflow for digital printing production. The Solit Three-Knife Trimmer is also perfectly suited for such jobs.

The Solit Three-Knife Trimmer is characterized by:

  • Shortest set-up times through full automation, toolless changeovers and the ability to integrate the machine into the digital workflow
  • Excellent constant trim quality thanks to its patented SmartPress Technology and the knives' wide-reaching pulling motion
  • Highest line speeds for single book trimming and the largest size range in its performance class
  • Absolutely quiet runs thanks to servo-controlled axis and a robust, single-piece machine frame

Shortest set-up times
The ability to switch the pressing plates and knife cassettes without the use of tools, and complete automation from the infeed to the trimming center provide for changeover times of less than 3 minutes.
The unique accessibility of the trimming unit due to the removable feeder provides additional comfort and speed when changing working tools.

Consistently high product quality with SmartPress Technology
Maintaining consistent cutting conditions is a prerequisite for uniformly high product quality. The patented SmartPress Technology, which already proved its worth in the high performance Orbit Three-Knife Trimmer, was developed for this reason, ensuring a gentle, controlled pressing procedure in which the air between the sheets of paper can fully escape from the product. This approach to compact book pressing is the optimal pre-condition for the perfect trim.

Decoupled trimming unit
The swing cut principle has been optimized even further by separating the drives. The knives' pulling motion while trimming has been increased, facilitating the production of perfect book spines without the use of additional tools. Another clear advantage of the independent operation of the drives is the fact that a product is only trimmed once it has entered the cutting unit – according to the motto: “No Book – No Cut“.
