Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitcher brings60% productivity increase to Southwestern Stationery

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Getting more done in less time is a proven formula for success in the business world, and it’s a formula which certainly applies to print finishing.  For Southwestern Stationery, a growing commercial printer that handles an extensive array of jobs, the ability to make the most of time has been enhanced since the installation of a Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitcher.

“We’ve experienced a 60% increase in productivity,” says Don Miles, Print Manager at Southwestern Stationery. “We are running three shifts in the press room and only one shift in the bindery...we needed equipment that would be able to keep up with the work from the three shifts.”

The Bravo-T saddle stitcher has been engineered to deliver speed and increased efficiency to busy shops, running at up to 11,000 cycles per hour and featuring PLC assisted controls and a menu-guided screen for quick and easy set-ups and changeovers.

Southwestern Stationery’s Bravo-T saddle stitcher replaced an old Sheraton stitcher, and the impressive production capabilities of the new machine as well as its reliable engineering are not the only criteria that Southwestern used in deciding upon the Bravo-T over competitive saddle stitchers.  Another factor was Muller Martini’s industry leadership in providing print finishing solutions.  “This is our first Muller Martini piece of equipment and an important reason why we chose it is because of the support,” continues Mr. Miles.

The Muller Martini Bravo-T comes equipped with a three-knife trimmer and with its modular design, it can be expanded at any time to feed up to 14 signatures or 12 signatures with a cover folder feeder – meeting the requirements of growing printing and binding businesses.  In addition to the fastest make-readies of any medium-speed saddle stitcher on the market, the Bravo-T offers the highest price-performance ratio of any stitcher in its class. Other key advantages include: gripper and suction opening; individual 1:2/1:1 gearing; heavy-duty in-line single book trimmer; and frequency controlled drive.
