West America Graphics doubles its workflow speed with Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitcher

Foothill Ranch, California – West America Graphics Corporation is a high-end commercial sheetfed printer that employs 70 people and specializes in top quality, short-run production.  Recently, West America Graphics installed a Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitcher with the goal of improving workflow speed and efficiency.  That goal has been accomplished.

“We had a 15 year-old Muller Martini stitcher that we needed to upgrade,” says Robert Heyer, Plant Manager.  “After installing the Bravo-T stitcher, our speed has doubled, eliminating bottlenecks in the bindery. And, we can now do loop stitching in-house, increasing our profitability.”

Before choosing the Bravo-T, West America Graphics did its homework and even though they already owned a Muller Martini stitcher, they wanted to know what others thought of newer-generation Muller stitching technology.  “We talked to companies who have Muller Martini equipment and heard nothing but good things,” continues Robert Heyer.  Another important benefit is operator-friendliness.  “Muller equipment is easy to use,” states Mr. Heyer.

The Bravo-T saddle stitcher has been engineered to deliver rapid production and enhanced productivity to busy shops, running at up to 11,000 cycles per hour and featuring PLC assisted controls and a menu-guided screen for quick and easy set-ups and changeovers. Bravo-T comes equipped with a three-knife trimmer and with its modular design, it can be expanded at any time to feed up to 14 signatures or 12 signatures with a cover folder feeder – meeting the requirements of growing printing and binding businesses.

In addition to the fastest make-readies of any medium-speed saddle stitcher on the market, the Muller Martini Bravo-T offers the highest price-performance ratio of any stitcher in its class. Other key advantages include: gripper and suction opening; individual 1:2/1:1 gearing; heavy-duty in-line single book trimmer; and frequency controlled drive.
