When the Customer Wants an Escort for a Bike Tour

Customer service with a difference: A customer from Mexico wanted to fulfill one of his greatest wishes during his visit to Muller Martini AG in Zofingen: bike tours in Switzerland. "No problem," said Muller Martini and provided him with Stefan Ging, an employee with triathlon experience.

Juan S. Estrada Hérnandez, owner and CEO of IDEEO 4.0/Gráficas Corona is not only a successful entrepreneur, but also an excellent athlete. He used to compete in various marathons with times under three hours. During the Corona pandemic, he turned more and more to cycling. He owns his own cycling team – and is still an avid cyclist at the age of 57.

The sporty company boss also indulges in his hobby when he is traveling. This was also the case recently in Switzerland, when he visited the Muller Martini company and its CEO Bruno Müller because of his investment in an Alegro perfect binder and a BF PRO bookline, and also stopped by the An der Reuss bookbindery in Lucerne. At Muller Martini, he asked if someone could accompany him on two bicycle tours.

Juan S. Estrada Hérnandez (left) and Stefan Ging covered 65 kilometers on their racing bikes on the first day and 78 kilometers 24 hours later.

Fortunately, Muller Martini has an employee in Zofingen, Stacker fitter Stefan Ging, who is predestined for exactly this customer request. The 31-year-old competes in triathlon over the classic Ironman distance (3.8 km swim/180 km bike/42 km run) and is a three-time duathlon amateur world champion in the long distance in the Ü25 (2019) and Ü30 (2021+2022) age groups. Still so happy he agreed for the joint ride with Juan S. Estrada Hérnandez.

And so, on the first day, at 7:30 a.m., the two rode from Lucerne to Entlebuch and back. 24 hours later, the second tour again took them from Lucerne around Lake Zug and up the Zugerberg. Stefan Ging ("that was really fun") paid great respect to Juan S. Estrada Hérnandez: "I am deeply impressed by his fitness. Both tours lasted three hours and demanded a lot from us. The first one covered 65 kilometers and 1400 meters of altitude, the second one even 78 kilometers and 1000 meters of altitude."
