Building a Culture Around Books: Literacy, Community, and Teamwork at Müller Martini

At Müller Martini, books are more than just the final product of our equipment—they're a symbol of knowledge, imagination, and opportunity. As a company that supports the production and distribution of books, we recognize the responsibility—and privilege—of contributing to a world where reading is accessible to all.

That’s why 2025 is shaping up to be a special year for us. We’ve launched several meaningful initiatives that not only celebrate literacy but also strengthen our ties to the communities we serve and bring our teams closer together.

Celebrating Champions of Learning: The Fred H. Jones and Steven Schoeneberger Libraries
We’re proud to announce the opening of two libraries—one in each of our U.S. offices—dedicated to two extraordinary individuals whose passion for knowledge, leadership, and teamwork has left a lasting impact on Müller Martini.

Our Hauppauge, New York office is now home to the Fred H. Jones Library, named in honor of Fred’s more than 30 years of service. Throughout his career, Fred has held key roles including Service Manager, National Service Manager, and, currently, Technical Support Manager. His dedication to supporting every department and his commitment to lifelong learning continue to inspire us all.

In our Allentown, Pennsylvania location, the Steven Schoeneberger Library has been dedicated to Steve, who has been with Müller Martini for over 35 years. As Director of Operations and a valued member of the Executive Management Team, Steve has played a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of our Allentown operations.

Community Engagement: Lehigh Valley Book Festival Sponsorship
This year, we proudly sponsored the Lehigh Valley Book Festival in Allentown, a vibrant celebration of books that brings together authors, readers, educators, and local businesses. Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to promoting literacy and fostering a love of reading in the communities where we live and work. Supporting events like this also aligns with our vision of contributing to a more informed, creative, and connected society.

Giving Back: Partnering with The Book Fairies
We’ve also partnered with The Book Fairies, a Long Island-based nonprofit organization that redistributes books to under-resourced communities across Long Island, New York City, and internationally. Their mission is simple yet powerful: ensure that all children have access to books, so they can learn, grow, and thrive—regardless of their circumstances.

We are currently organizing a volunteer day with The Book Fairies, where our employees will help sort, pack, and prepare books for distribution. Not only is this an opportunity to give back, but it’s also a chance for us to strengthen our team bonds outside the workplace. Volunteering together fosters teamwork, empathy, and a shared sense of purpose—values that align with our culture at Müller Martini.

Why this Matters from an HR Perspective
Human Resources knows that employee engagement isn’t just about performance—it’s about connection. People want to work for companies that care, that give them a chance to contribute to something greater. These literacy initiatives give our employees purpose beyond the 9-to-5—whether it's by contributing to a shared library or teaming up to pack books for children who need them most. And this is just the beginning—there’s more to come as we continue building a culture that values learning, giving back, and growing together.
