Successful Appearance by Muller Martini at China Print

The five-day China Print in Beijing was a great success for Muller Martini. Over 2,000 visitors from more than 300 different companies came to the booth to find out first-hand about the latest innovations from Muller Martini.

The smooth live demonstrations on a complete digital production line consisting of the SigmaLine Compact book block production system and the Vareo PRO perfect binder with InfiniTrim cutting robot attracted great interest among visitors to the trade fair. “No other exhibitor came even close to demonstrating continuous production of books of different sizes and thicknesses,” said Sven Olsen, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, summing up Muller Martini's performance in positive terms. The machines presented at the booth were already pre-sold and will be installed at customer sites in China in the coming weeks.

The Hunkeler Gen8, also presented live at the Muller Martini booth, was a big hit at the Beijing China International Exhibition Center. Four customers decided to invest in the roll-to-stack solution, which impressed them with its high performance.

The start of China Print was spectacular. On the very first day, Bruno Müller, CEO of Muller Martini, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Jingdian. The agreement provides for the installation of four new Primera PRO over the next two years to replace six older saddle stitchers. Shandong Jingdian is also investing in two Diamant MC book lines to enter the hardcover business.

Sven Olsen was particularly pleased about a special event at the trade show for a group of students from the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. “We gave them a first-hand look at the latest developments in digital print finishing. For me, this was wonderful proof of the newly discovered interest younger people have in our industry.”
